Mr Bonar Law, speaking in Glasgow, said that though he felt better than for many years past, due to hi* present freedom from worry and responsibilibty, he did not wish nor intend to join any government hut he hoped, as a private member to interest himself in the current polities. The Governments of this and every country were now in, deep waters. It was inevitable, in such circumstances that they should become unpopular, but be refused to believe that the members of tbe present British Government were on a lower plane than the critics who were anxious to supplant them. He would not he a party to trying to affect an y change. The present was a time for supporting, not attacking Government.
AVIATION CONFERENCE. . LONDON, February 14. Mr Ashbolt presided at an International Conference at Australia House London, for the purpose of standardise-" " ing aviation equipment. Mr Afshbolt and Major Scott (Technical Adlviser to the Imperial Air Department) represented Britain. The other countries represented were, France, Germany, Spain, and the United States. The conference agreed that a scheme of standardisation should apply to all the countries represented.

WASHINGTON DELEGATES. LONDON, Feb. 14. Sir John Salmond arrived by Aquitania, and was the recipient of a public welcome at Waterloo station, as was also accorded Mr Balfour Lord Lee, M. Sastri, and the other delegates, wherein Mr Lloyd George, Lord Birkenhead ,and other members of the Cabinet participated. Mr Balfour was greeted with a volley of cheers. ,
