THE FAMOUS DIGGERS
TO-NIGHT I TO-NIGHT! The present time, foregone conclusion of all, is a potent of gloom; depression is in the air; optimism is a,, dead word, and the ,world and his wife j plod along, leaden-heeled, sad-eyed, heavy-hearted. But there is a remedy ,for that depression, an antidote of ; lightheartedness which alone will carry J. us through ,the dark ways. Fully nhve. to the urgent need of merriment, the creation of laughter, the famous New Zealand Diggers have fortified their company with a coterie of four comedians —four wizards of merriment—whose very appearance dispel the gloom and shove life’s troubles into the hip pocket of the past. Joe Valli, Scotch comedian and eccentric dancer, has been brought from the Palladium, London. The funny little Scotchman null be seen at his i best in his own sketch “Tickets Please.” I Frank Perryn is an excellent comedian and baritone whose forte is Italian , impersonations in song and monologue. < Frank Moran is one long laugh from top to toe. He has just returned to hfs native land after nearly three years j successful touring of the music halls m England. Tano Fama —our own captain ot ; comedy—has been busy,- but “miff said.” He will be there with the goods again. I Stan Lawson is as chic as ever with n wonderful wardrobe and a delightful repertoire of new songs. And there are i others, light comedians, ragtime sing- ' ers dangers, vocalists, etc., etc. All artists of exceptional ability, supported !by their ever famous orchestra of ten picked musicians. _____
