FIRE DAMAGE. AUCKLAND, Feb. 13. Damage by fire to the premises of John Burns Ltd., is estimated at £lO,(XX), the greater part being on stock The (buildings are insured for £22,000 and stock for £14,000 in Queensland Insurance Coy. The work of assessing the damage is not complete. A SUDDEN DEATH. TIMARU, Feb 13. Thomas Dobier, a Borough Council employee, aged 65 years, dropped dead while working on the road this morning. He left home in good health. The supposed cause of death is heart failure. KILLED BY MAIN TRUNK EXPRESS. WELLINGTON, Feb. 13 Harry Field, aged 18 years, engaged m a farming occupation, and residing at Paraparauinu, was riding a motorcycle when he collided with the Main Trunk express this afternoon at Paraparaumu crossing. Field was hurled a considerable distance. He was picked up in a critical condition, and was carried by the express to Otaki. On arrival lie expired. Deceased was a nephew of Mr W. H. Field, M.P., and a son of the late John Field.
