WEST COAST BOWLING TOURNAMENT.

OPENING TO-MORROW. The annual West Coast Bowling tournament opens on the Hokitika green to-morrow morning at 9 o’clock. The play for the day will, be for ti rinks championship and the green will be filled with seven sets eaoh playing three grames of 21 heads during the day. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided for the players and a similar comfort will be obtainable by the public for a nominal charge. On Wednesday the pairs competition will be commenced played beginning at 8 o’clock and during the day 28 pairs will take part, 14 at a time, the green being occupied by seyn rinks for six games during the day, each pair having three games. On Thursday semi-finals and finals of both rinks and pairs will be played off. The visitors number 44 players and most of them are arriving this evening, the Westport players coming through by cars, having left this morning, while j the Christchurch rink readied town | this morning.
