Yesterday, however, Mr Rieger, of tho American Red Cross at Budapest, tried liassan with a dollar hill, which the elephant took in his trunk and promptly handed to the keeper. TOURIST FALLS 200 FEET. VEVEY, Dec 20. An Alpipe tragedy has just been seen by the villagers of Oondo, near the Italian frontier. Hearing cries for help coming from the steep rocks which dominate the village, the inhabitants rushed to the foot of the cliffs and saw high above them the figure of a. tourist clinging to the face of the rock. With frantic cries the onlookers urged him to climb up again, but the tourist insisted on trying to find a way down. Several men with-ropes started for the) summit of the cliffs, whence they hoped to reach the climber, but suddenly the man was seen to lose his grip and crash 1 into a gully 200 ft. below. The task of reaching his body will be extremely difficult.
