Visit of General Sir A. H. Russell.

General Russell, Dominion President of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, accompanied by the Reverend Walkei and Mr W. E. Lendloy President and Sec retary respectively of the Christchurch branch, and Mr H. J. Knight a member of the Executive Council, will arrive at Keller’s Hotel this evening at 6 o’clock. The party will be met by the Deputy Mayor and Councillors and also by the President and officials of the local Returned Soldiers Association and by the children attending the various schools. At o quarter past seven the Town Band and Returned Soldiers will parade under Sergeant Major Mclntosh at Keller’s Hotel, and march to the Town Hall where a civic reception will be accorded the General at 7.30 p.m. At 8 o’clock the General will deliver his address on the aims and objeqtg of the Association. To-morrow morning the visiting party will he the guests of the local Association and visit Kanieri Lake. On returning tho party will inspect tho Rimu Dredge. In the afternoon the party will proceed to Ross, where the General will be accorded a reception and later deliver an address. A dinner will he tendered to General Sir A. H. Russell by the Ross Returned Eoldiers at the Empire Hotel. Ross on Saturday evening at 6 o’clock.
