INANGAHUA MEETING CRITI- , OISED. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 8. I At a .meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Asociation to-day, P. Rivers, who was disqualified in connection witli the Nature’s Gentleman case, wrote asking if the Board would grant transfers of the horses bought and sold by him in lus dealing transactions. The application was refused. Stipendiary Steward Mabee commented unfavourably on several matters in connection with the recent meeting of the Inangahua Trotting Club. It was decided l to ask the Club for an explanation of these matters. Mr Williams drew attention to the number of cases which occurred recently in which horses had been withdrawn from amateur races after the totalise-
tor had opened. He considered! it was time amateur races -were abolished and suggested a remit in that direction should go forward to next conference. This was agreed to.
