Man Overboard.
BANDS HIS CATCH AFTER ALL
SUVA, Jan. 30.
Big game fish have been in Fijian waters during the past week or two in great numbers. While wain up to 611 b have been caught (wain being a Spanish mackerel), the chief fish is the sanka a splendid strong hard fighting fish, which reaches over 1001 b. Mr Roy Parnell, M.C. was trawling with a companion in a. small launch. He was using a now thick sehnapper 80yards line with a large |'pok baited with a whole mullet. Suddenly the lino flashed out. It was new and wet and had curled as it lay. Roy’s hand tried to catch the flying line when one of the snarls caught him by the middle finger, and in a second bo was overboard.
His mate grabbed tbo line, and stopped the engine; and lie climbed on board and brought the fish alongside in 10 minutes. The sanka sealed 95 lbs when cleaned.
