The Meat Pool. f The Meat Export Control Bill, introduced in the House of Representatives last week, provides the machinery for the establishment of the compulsory meat pool. The Meat Export Board is to consist of two representatives of the Government and five representatives of the producers. The Government is taking power to prohibit tljie export of meat save under the conditions laid down by the board. This authority will .control export, finance, freights and other matters, will control distribution in Britain through l a London agency, and will have powter to make a levy on exported meat to (cover its expenses. The Government twill back the scheme financially.
