[bV TELEGRAPH —PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. The Legislative Council met a$ 2.30. Sir F. D. Bell moved the second reading of the Government Railways ways Amendment Bill, which was subsequently put through Committee and passed. The Washing-Up Bill was put through the Committee stage and passed. The Council rose at 3.4 p.m.
THE HOUSE. The House mot at 2.30 p.m. 1 No formal business was transacted but the Speaker immediately called upon Mr Sullivan to continue His speech on tho amendment before the House when it adjourned at midnight on Saturday, viz., that the report of the harbour Bills Committee on the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment 'Bill be referred back to the Labour Bill's Commitee for further consideration. The debate was continued till 3.30 p.m., when a division was''taken, the amendment being defeated by 30 to 20. The House debated Sir J. Luke’s motion that the report of the Committee andl evidence on the Bill lie on the table. This, on division was carried by 41 to 27Hop Anderson then moved that the House go into committee on the Bill, which was d' s(nisaec l until 1.30 a.m. when, on division the motion was carried by 44 to 13.
