WOMEN IN BUSINESS. NEW YORE, Dec-. 14. Declaring that she is unable to support a life of inactivity to which she retired after several years’ work as leader of the Women’s Suffrage movement and the head of several war charities, Mrs Norman Whitehouse, a prominent figure in New York, an-1 nounces that she has bought a leather goods manufacturing concern, of which she is to be the president. Another woman, Mrs John Blair, secretary of the Women’s City Club, will lie the vice-president of the company, which is retaining the service of one of the former owners as treasurer. Mrs Whitehouse is following the example of her sister, who after her children had grown up went to the university and qualified as a lawyer. She now carries on her own practice. msamA£*m.vawmL. jjt
