AUSTRALIA V. REST. SYDNEY, Feb. 4. The match Australia XI, versus Rest of Australia was resumed in showery* weather. Australia made 227 for six wickets. Rardsley made 25, Collins 41, Macartney 47, Andrews 30, Gregory 1, Taylor 19, Ryder (not out) 44, and Oldfield (not out) 9. Play was stopped by rain four times and the ground was treacherous.
Macartney played the innings of the v ~' day, delighting the spectators witli sparkling crisp shots, and scoring ,nt a fast rate. Collins was always at home to the bowling and played a very confident, unhurried innings, but Bardsley was disappointing. ) Ryder apparently is well set, and looks like making a big score.
