FARMER’S SUICIDE. CHRISTCHURCH, February 3. Wilfred Pritchard Dowdle, a farmer, who had b e en missing from his home at Clarkville since' Wednesday,
waß found dead yesterday with the
top of his head blown off. A double- * barrelled gun was beside the body. An inquest was opened and adjourned. A note found on the body redd: “Dear Father.— Please forgive me for this. I cannot help it. I am suffering terribly with my head. Don’t worry over me. I have tried hard not to do it. Goodbye to you all.”
