WELLINGTON, Feb. 2. One of the most pleasant and successful functions ever held in connection with Parliamet was celebrated tiiis evening. During the supper adjournment members of both Houses and all parties, gathered in Bellamys to, mark their regard for Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, member for Westland, and to congratulate him upon his approaching marriage with Miss B. Wood. The Prime Minister (Hon. W. F. Massey) presided, and in a happy speech, expressed his appreciation of Mr Seddon’s many good qualities, and in the name of members, presented him with a handsome entree dish. Sir Frederick Lang (Speaker), Hon. T. Wilford and Mr H. Holland followed. Sir Thoips Mackenzie represented the Legislative Council, and Hon Ngata spoke on behalf of the Maori race. All the speakers voiced the affection and high esteem in which the guest of tlie evening is held; After a fitting acknowledgment had been made by the recipient, his health was enthusiastically drunk, and the singing of Auld Lang Syne brought a memorable evening to a close,
