Stephen Ward, aged 75 employed on the wntefyont, was no seriously injured through being crushed by a Kale of wool, that he died in the hospital. Ward with others, was working in a woo] shed, when a bale became dislodged and fell some distance, Ward being badly crushed, his leg broken/, besides other injuries.
WATER SI DERS AWARD. WELLINGTON, January 27. In connection v ith the waterside worker expiring agreement, the shipping; companies have cited the Unions under F.C. and A. Act. The Arbitration Court will therefore decide the terms of the next agreement. It is understood the employers suggest that wages shall be on he same scale as general abourers.
