Mp Lloyd (Chairnian of Public Wprks) reported' that an inspection of the Town Rail roof had been made and that it was recommended no action be taken at present; that following an inspection various sites it was recoin mended that a public rubbish dump be made on the southern half of Bark Reserve, be-! tween Han Hau road and Kariieri road that in connection with the water, supply all leaks visible hail been repaired but in spite of this on Sunday morning between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the hospital, mental hospital and abattoirs cut off between 50,000 and 60,000 gallons of water had .flowed out of the reservoir .(—Received.

In connection with the water, supply lengthy discussion took place in which much concern was expressed as to where the leakage, wap taking place. It was mentioned that tests showed that the leakage was in town reticulation between.the racecourse hill and the town. That the fact that over 60,000 gallons had passed through in two hours on Sunday morning showed the leakage was ,a most serious one, the reservoir, itself which had It feet of water at 11 o’clock, being dry at 1 p.m., with an additional 110 gallons per minute, coping in from the Lake. It was resqlved that an exhaustive test of each of the five sections of the town reticulation h e continued and that a report, be marie to tlie Council.
