Alt AH URA FAT STOCK SALE

At the above yards yesterday 5G head of cattle were submitted to the usual attendance of buyers and for which there was moderate competition. Prices however, did not show any improvement on the opening fixture of this year and the only improvement was in well finished light weight sorts.

Messrs W. Jeffries and Co sold as follows:—On account Mr W. Ol dor civ; 3 heifers at £7, 3 at £6 10s. G at £G 2s Gd, 4 at £5 7s Gd. On account Mr W. L. Dove: 4 steers at £G. On account of Mr J. Collett: 2 bullocks at £9, 2 at £8 17s .Gd, .2 at £8 10s, 2' at £7 12s 6(1, 2at £7 10s 1 vvalor at £4, 3 light, heifers at £5 2s Gd, 1 eow at £4 5s and 2 at £4. On account Mr M. Collett 1 bulk at f 7 ,12s Gd, 2 heifers at £5 2s Gd, 2 cows at'£4 10s .1 vealer at £3 6s. On account. Mr J. Donovan (privately) 33 lambs at 17s Gd.

M. Houston and Co. report:— i\Ve held our usual' fortnightly sale at the above yards yesterday, our entry eoiim sting of 26 fat cattle, 94 fat sheep! and G2 fat lam Iks. The usual buyers were in attendance prices realized being on a par with those of the previous sale. We sold on account of Messrs Harris Bros 86 fat sheep at 20s 3d; on account of Mr C. Atkinson, 8 sheep at 20s 3d, G lambs at 17s, 23 at 15s: on account of Mr J. Allan 23 lambs (stores) at 8s 9d : on account of Mr M. Patrick 2 bullocks at £8 7s Gd, 3 at £9, 2 at £lO, 4 at £9, 2 at £8 ss, 3 at £7 15s 2 at £9 15s, 2 at £9 ss, 3 at £7 17s 6d, 1 heifer at £7, 2 at £1 os; on account of client 1 bull at £3 ss.
