THE IRISH PROBLEM.
U/STItALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. DE VALERA’S AIM. (Received This Day at 10.15 a.m.) PARIS, January 23. A reassuring indication of the policy he intends to pursue was given by de Valera in an interview with French newspapers. He said we have no intention of ooming into direct conflict with a majority of the Irish Parliament. Our aim is to lead the Irish people towards the aspirations for which we have always fought, but we will not play the game of our oppressors by creating internal troubles, and furnishing a pretext for meddling in our affairs to crush us.
GENERALLY APPROVED. (Received This Dav at 0.40 a.m.) LONDON, Jan 23. Ulster newspapers generally approve of the Craig-Collins apiproaehment.
