The Plunket Shield match between Auckland and Wellington was resumed in fine weather and with conditions favourable to the batsmen. Auckland continued the first innings and finished with a total of 322. McLeod made a good stand for 56, Smith 55, and Dacre 50. Fail played good cricket and Riountree the wicket-keeper. There were 19 extras scored, these being solely accounted for by Wellington fielding weaker at the finish. Brice took 3 for 71 ; Henderson 5 for 66, and Barclay 2 for 49.

Wellington lias 8 wickets down for 182 runs, compiled by steady cricket Hiddelstone made 63, Collins 41, Baker 24 and McGirr (not out) 32. Rountree is in great form behind the wickets. Sneddon took 3 for 41, Garrard 2 for 30, and Smith 2 for 54.
