Poincnire desires that the completion of the Anglo-French pact should follow, but not precede a settlement of all the questions pending between Britain and France, such as Angora. He also desires an amendment of the pact by its extension beyond Desealte, and clearly stating the British guarantee of military aid covers any aggression on the German territories occupied by the Allied troops. He has pointed out that while the Allies continue to occupy the left hank of the Rhine under tho Peace Treaty, German aggression can only take place in German territory.
LONDON, Jan. 21 The German newspapers comment on Premier Poincaire’s declaration with venomous personal hate. Any unfriendly comment on Franco in the British or American newspapers js eagerly quoted to show that they judge Poiheaire the same way as the Germans. The “Tageblatt,” “Lokalaryiiger,” and other journals accuse M. Poincaire of not seeking a fulfilment of the ■ Treaty, but an excuse to denounce Ger-1 many’s bad faith, and to take further < military steps. t The “Lokalanziger” generally ob-‘ serves: “If lies choked, M. Poincaire would have died long ago. He takes up the old humbug about war criminals in order to find a pretext for tuVtlier sanction.” j
