The necessary legislative measures m connection with the Irish Treaty will demand careful drafting, in view ol many complex problems that are involved. Therefore it lias been decided that the British Parliament will not meet before February 7th.
BANK OF IRELAND. (Received This Da.v at 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18 It is semi-officially stated that the Bank of Ireland is arranging to lend a million sterling to enable the Provisional Government to provide for its immediate needs. It is understood the fiist Budget will not make any drastic departures in taxation.
AN APPOINTMENT. -Received This Day at 0.40 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18. Alderman Walsh, whose sentence of death for participating at the Easter rising in Dublin, was afterward commuted, lias been appointed to the charge of the Irish Post Office.
A ROBBERY. .'Received This Day at 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18
During the handing over of the Dublin Castle, burglars entered the house of the Commander of Constabulary, in the castle yard, and carried off a quantity of jewellery, though the yard was lined with police.
