SILVER WEDDING.

MR AND AI.RS FRANK DYER. An exceptionally pleasant social function took place at the Alidland Hotel on Friday afternoon, when Air and Airs Frank Dyer, of l’ark street, AVellkigton, entertained many . old friends on the occasion of the celebration of their silver wedding. The winter gulden conservatory, and other rooms, were filled with many representatives of “ Old Thormlon,” as well as some from the AVest Coast, where the Right ITon. R. J. Seddon and lamily had many; friends. Beautiful flowers wore used in. flic decorations, hydrangeas, sweet peas, carnations, and roses being massed in. delightfully artistic groups. Tea, with delicious cakes, etc., also fruit salads ami ices were served, and the reunion of old friends was a great pleasure to all. Air and Airs Dyer received the guests. Airs Dyer wore a handsome gown of draped black Spanish lace over black charmeuse, the corsage having' toudhes of fine white tulle finished wit'll a long chain of pink crystal in jets. Her hat was of blade panne, with a cluster of black ospreys, and she carried a bouquet of (apricot roses and foliage, one of which were presented to mark the occasion. Among the guests was the Bishop of AAfollington, Dr Sprott, who performed the wedding ceremony at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral twenty-five years ago. The day. was also the anniversary of Airs Seddon’s wedding, so that it had a double interest. Aliss Lulu Dyer, who assisted her mother in entertaining the guests, wore the charming frock which she wore at the Buckingham Palace garden party recently while in England. It was of soft heliotrope charmeuse, made with the' long-waisted effeot, the skirt ‘being 1 arranged with draped panels. Her hat, of the upturned sailor type, was of the same pretty shade of colour. Mrs Seddon wore black, with touches of white and a toque to match, Her sister, Mrs Hannah,
