WEDDING GIFTS FROM THE DOMINION. WELLINGTON, Jan. 12. In connection with the marriage of Princess Mary next month two funds for subscriptions for wedding presents have already been opened in New Zealand, one for the Marys of the Empire and the other for ex-Y.A.D.’s. These '' are both Empire funds. There has . also been a very strong desire expressed ■ that the women of New Zealand should, : in addition, contribute a gift of their own, and the Minister of Internal Afi fairs, in order to ascertain how general was the wish, communicated with the Mayors of the cities and principal boroughs in the dominion. As a result of the replies received he has decided to oiler the opportunity desired and has circularised the Mayors of cities and boroughs and town boards, asking them to open shilling subscription lists, which will close on February 11th. The money will he forwarded through the Bank of New Zeaand branches to the Undersecretary for Internal Affairs, and when the total amount is ascertained the form of this wedding present (exclusively from the women of New Zealand) shall take will be decided upon. It is desired of course, that gifts shall not affect subscriptions to the other funds.
