j TRAIN DAGGER FIGHT, j ROME, Nov. 8. j A grilling story of a. murder in a j Rome-Florence train, in which the vic- . tim, Edigio Tomasi, a merchant, was ; stabbed, chased through the corridorß ' of three coaches, and then shot, reaches I here to-day. Tomasi, awakened in the middle of the night, found the other man trying , to render him .unconscious by holding 1 some cotton wool dipped in chloroform i under his nose. In the fight which j followed, Tomasi was stabbed in the I head by his opponent’s dagger, but ali though the wound was bleeding freely he escaped to the corridor, j He fled through the corridors of j three coaches before the murderer overtook him and fired a revolver at his back. Other travellers awoke at the noise; whereupon the murderer jumped out of the window, though the train was travelling at full speed. When the train reached Arezzo, south of Florence, Tomasi was dead. The murderer, recognised as Nestore Trizzi, was found on the railway line seriously wounded( by his dash out of the window. The police at Arezzo also arrested a young student, Carlo Andrebni, who it is stated was found washing bloodstains from his clothes.
