The ship now lies in New York harbour with the crew in charge of an armed guard. The vessel is the schooner, S. B. Young, which I mentioned in a! recent despatch ns playing a game of hide and seek with a United States revenue cutter oif the Massachusetts coast. The log of the S.B. Young shows that the schooner’s skipper succeeded in eluding his opponent and that he put into Vineyard Haven two days after the encounter with the revenue cutter. The vessel’s manifest shows that she sailed from Newfoundland for the Bahamas on'September 25th with 1,000 oases of whisky. Since then her cargo has dwindled to 300 cases. The ship was found by the coastguards in distress off Bong Island coast yesterday. Investigation revealed
