HOHONU SLUICING COY.
WORKS STARTING SOON. Some few weeks ago the flotation of the llohomi Coy. in London was announced. The Company has now organised, and Mr James Park of Hokitika, lias been appointed attorney for the Company. To-day cabled instructions were received to call tenders for four miles of race. The race is to carry 50 beads of water, so that' the work is of considerable magnitude. The specifications for the work are well advanced and it is hoped to have tenders for the work called within the next week or ten days. It is proposed to let as many small contracts as possible so as to afford more general employment. It will be good news to hear of this development, which is further evidence that the future of the gold-mining industry is still of great promise to the district.
