(nearly 5 miles), establishing what is believed to be a world’s record. As he dropped to the earth for 18 minutes Chambers lighted and smoked a cigarette. He made a! leap from the wing of the machine, diving head-fore-most into space. He fell 500 ft. before the parachute opened.
