GREYMOUTH TROTTING CLUB. SECOND DAY RESULTS. GREYMOUTH, January 4. ! The concluding day of the Greymouth i Trotting Club’s Midsummer Meeting’ was held yesterday in beautifully fine . weather. The track was in good order though somewhat on the dusty side. Gasldll was up before the stewards for inconsistent running with Merry Peter but after several adjournments in order to allow Gaskill to drive in other races, the popular trainer was cleared. His driving in thc-Papa-roa Handicap was full of merit, and is one of his best efforts to date. His judgment was perfect and it is sale to say n that it was as much the man as the horse to whom credit was due. Wastewood came down in the home straight in the Presidents Handicap, Lynch and the horse escaping without injury. Vigorous had a runaway victory in the County Handicap, and practically lapped one of the tail-enders. Victoria Park Handicap—Peter McMillan 1, Bon Sonty 2, Merry Peter 3 Nipper led for a mile but was pulled up. Peter McMillan went to the front I and won by a length and a half. Time
