TIM ARC TOURNAMENT. j TIMARU, Dee. 20. | 'The Christmas Bowling Tournament | which was interrupted hy rain on A\ ed- I nosdav night was concluded to-day j v, lien the Bairs Final was decided. The weather was benutiiully line, and theie was a very large number of enthusiastic onlookers at Timaru green, where the play commenced at 10.150 a.in. After the overnight rain the green was in splendid order, and the play was of ijnite exceptional merit. Many bowlers declared that better bowling has not been seen in Timaru, the form shown by the Knitangata miners, who won, coming in for admiration hy all. This game elided on the nineteenth head and ihe winning pair were very heartily applauded. The lesult was': T. Sharp end \V. S. i'oilman (Knitangata) 40 heat Rlaekham and D. Dewar (AVest I r.nd) 12. Tn the play-off for third prize in the competition, T. AYntson and D. Thomp- : son (Oamarii) 2o heat J. (J. Bruce and C A. Simmers (Timaru). I Mr C. K. Torlessc (president of the I South Canterbury Centre) presented the prizes won at the tournament and offered his congratulations to the winners.
