The newspapers arc paying increasing attention to Cnrpculior’s and Cook’s lraining. The “Evening News” critics point out that though Carponticr cased up over the holidays, Cook worked harder than ever and the fight will he a terrific affair, adding it is .significant that among the real critics there are more takers than offerers of odds against Cook, discounting the suggestion that Dempsey permanently hurt Cfirpeutier. He is of opinion the Eren'chman though good as ever, will not have nil easy rtin. Cook is the fastest heavy wieght Aeon in Britain for years. I’ believe he is too fast to make most of his weight, to which is probably due his inability to knock out Cm policy or Goddard. ( ook now claims he has developed a putlcll without sacrificing speed. It true, Caipentior will have a troubleous time. The Frenchman lias met many sorts of 1 .oxers in his career, hut never a tougher or gatllcr opponent than the unassuming Cook. ♦
