EGYPTIAN CRISIS. A REBELLION EVIDENT. CAIRO, Deo. 24. A tour of Cairo lias disclosed evidences of the previous trouble. The lamp-posts are torn down in some streets. Elaines are issuing from broken gas-pipes. Many missiles are lying about. There is a barriade of trees erected in one street. The streets are now fairly empty. French newspapers here protest against attacks on French shops, as only damaging to Eygpt’s cause. Parties of British military have taken control and the situation appears to be well in hand. Znghlul Pasha was taken to Suez in a motor car under escort. SUNDAY’S REPORTS. LONDON, Dec. 2(1. The situation in Egypt took a grave turn on Sunday. The rioting is spreading. A mob of Egyptians on Monday morning attacked a police station in the Motisky quarter. The troops were called in. They shot five rioters dead, and wounded four others. Troops have also been dispatched, however, to Taonh, which is unsettled. British troops are proceeding to the suburb of Jisa, where a mob is now attacking the Government offices. Otherwise Cairo appears quiet. Leaflets are lieing distributed in Alexandria, inciting the people to rise in insurrection. They conclude: "Long Live Znghlul!” MANY MORE CASUALTIES. CAIRO, Dee. 27. There is continued rioting reported. Seventeen more Egyptians have hecii killed, and over fifty more injured in Cairo alone. There are also casualties reported from other towns. RIG STRIKE. CAIRO. Dec. 27 The majority of the Government ot(icials are striking. Their strike is not expected 10 last more than three days. SOCIAL PROBLEMS. I.OX DON. December 2. The Scottish Minors’ loader, Mr Itolvert Smillic, speaking at Glasgow said: "International peace would solve ' all the social problems, but the Government would not bring such a peace about, because it was not in the interests of organised capital. Instead of blaming the Government for the war, the people should join in electing a Government pledged not merely to disarmament, hut to submit all national quarrels to a conference for settlement.
