Kanieri Concert and Ball
The concert and hull, held at Kanieri on Monday night in aid ol the Kanieri (Public School prize fund passed oil' most suecesiully. r i lie various items oti the programme were greatly appreciated by the large audience present, and encores were frequent. Tlx* following was the programme : Overture, Misses Wylie and J'ors.vth: Chorus, (seniors) “Mountain Maid’s Invitation” ; Solo, Miss .Forsyth; Recitation, Ivy Bergman; Solo. Mr Aldridge; Dance, Melba Gibbons; Song (juniors) “Master Bunny”; Sol , Miss Shand; Musical trio. Air Gibbons and Misses C. Morris; Song, (hoys) “Mixed Gaglets.” Overture. Miss C- Morris; Chorus, (seniors) “Beautiful Moonlight”; Solo. Aliss Lloyd: Recitation, Constance Newman; Solo. Air AlcFadveii ; Dance, Alellia Gibbons and Alva Mclntosh; Song, (girls) “Baby Close Thine Eyes and Sleep” ; Solo, Air Alderidge; Round, (seniors) “Good-night.” God Save the King. At the close of the concert the Chairman of the Committee (Air Selby) thanked the performers and the audience for their attendance, especially thanking Mrs Alansou and Aliss E. XI ill nor, tlx* teachers of the School, for the excellent entertainment which they had organised, also tlx* ladies who supplied the refreshments, and Mrs Head, for tlx* use of her piano. Tlx* Ball which followed was largely attended, and excellent music was supplied by Air I .awn. while Air A. R ooney had charge of the floor a.iid carried out his duties in liis usual capable style.
