RUATAPU NOTES.
(From a Correspondent). A •'rand night’s entertainment was held in Albert Hall. IDintnpu on Thursday, loth December., the hall being taxed to its utmost. The first half of the programme was given !>v the pupils of the Ross State School, numbering about HO children, every one of them being splendid performers. Much credit must be given to the Headmaster (Air Boyle), and Misses Smith and Milner. Mrs (!. Chapman was the pianist. Tile concert ended about 10 p.m. and then a •.'land ball followed. Messrs T. Jones and AY. Hernard carried out the duties of Masters of Ceremonies in their usual style, while Airs AY .Wilson and Miss Manera supplied the music to much satisfaction. Tho prizes for the waltzing competition wore awarded to Air CJ. Tnglis and Afiss Wilson, first, and Air Dobson and A 1 iss Douglas second. Mr F. AlcOregor acted as Judge for the competition and was accorded « very hearty vote of thanks for the way he judged the competitors. A dainty supper was handed around, being supplied by the ladies of Ttuntnpu. Dancing was kept up till I o’clock in the morning, all going home quite satisfied with their night’s enjoyment.* Tin* Committee were able to hand over the grand sum of .CIO to St. Alary’s Bazaar funds. The school concert- realised £9 which will go towards school prizes, making the grand total £‘2s. Well done ;Buatapu where the good sports are.
