THE IRISH PROBLEM

JUSTRAIiIAN AND N.Z. CAIlLte ASSOCIAtIdN. DAIL’S DECISION. DUBLIN ANTICIPATION. LONDON, Doc. 19. ft is not expected that the Dail Eirennn will divide before Tuesday on the question of the Treaty. ft is generally assumed in Dublin that Mr Collins will secure the ratification of the Treaty. Mr De Valera, it is stated, showed poorly in the debate. The real strength of the opposition to the Treaty is stated to be Messrs Austin Stack and Burgess. The governing body of the Scottish Sinn Feiners have pledged their support to Mr De Valera. M.r Andrews, speaking to the MidDown Unionists, said that the Northern Government would fight, the boundary question to a finish. Tyrone and Fermanagh Counties, he declared, must remain part of Rioter. He said he could not tell an Ulster Loyalist of today that lie owed allegiance to the Northern Government and remained a British citizen, and to-morrow drive him under another flag. There would lie no avenue of peace that way. He denounced the treaty. It was a panic surrender to Sinn Fein. COMMON'S PROROGUED. (Received This Day at 8.30 a.nt.) LONDON, December 19. Air Chamberlain announced that as Government does not expect the Dad F.ireann’s decision before Christmas Eve it has been decided to prorogue Parliament to-day till 31st. January.
