Amusement Tax.
THE NEW PROPOSALS. WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. Mr Massey has circulated his new amusement tax proposals as follows: On and after the first day of January. 1922, amusements tax under Part fll of the Finance Act, 1917, shall 1* paid at the following rates, that is to say: (a) Where the price charged for admission of any person to an entertainment does not exceed 9d no amusements tax shall he payable. (b) Where the price charged for admission exceeds 9d but does not exceed 2s 6(1, the amount of amusement tax shall be Id for every shilling or part of a shilling of such price. ((.) Where tlie price charged for admission exceeds 3s 6(1, the amount of amusements tax shall be Id for every shilling or part of a shilling of such price together with, in addition to the amount of tax calculated as aforesaid the sum of Id.
