LATE LOCALS.
The death took place to-day of an old pioneer at the Westland Hospital m the person of Simon Munroe, of Waikukupa. South Westland. Deceased had followed the occupation of a gold miner over t long period of years. He uas a native of Craighton, Scotland, and reached the ripe age of 81 years. The funeral leaves the Club Hotel at 1.50 p.m. on Thursday.
It is wonderful how all the old hands like 45’s better than any other card game. They are all going to the 45’s tournament in St. Mary’s Club Rooms to-morrow (Wednesday) night and will play off for Mr Frank’s Thompson’s prize That’s when the “five fingers” y w iil count. The A and A Stores are •riving valuable prizes for the euchre tournament the same evening. Supper and dance to follow as usual.— Advt.
