Hr George Aitken. a son of Mr Geo. Aitken of Westport and nephew of Mr A. Aitken of the Bank of New Zealand at Hokitika, who at present is on the staff of Wellington University lias 1)0011 selected us a New Zealand Rhodes scholar for 11*22. Mr Aitken is a notable footballer and captained the All Blacks against the Springboks ill the first and second test matches.
