The importation of pedigree Jersey slock for Mr S. R. Lancaster, a wellknown Jersey breeder, of Palmerston North, arrived at Auckland by the Port K cinblir from Liverpool. I m-l tided in the importation is the island-bred hull Marshall Aldan, aged mm year and several months. Mr E. Leonard claim, oil the animal to lie one of the best loillsi evi>r exported from the island. The two heifers are Irmii the herd of Mr< F Fvrlvn. now a viLitor lo; the M.inawa'.'i district. The heifer Wotton plosli took four first prizes ill Knglnni! ~n,| a reserve iliampioiiship ns a yearling, twice heating the first prize winner" at tlm Royal. The younger heifer is \yrot ton Sand Girl, a grand-daughter of i lie champion cow o| England. Ihe Island and English entile, were brought i.m through the agency ol Dalgety and ('o. Lid. The stock, which appeared in good condition, was taken to Motuihi Island, hv a ferry stea.nmr for a period, of forty days’ quarantine.
