Arbuckle Trial.
IL'STIIAI.IAN AND N.Z. CABI.E ASSOC'ATION. JURY LIKELY TO DISAGREE. SAN FRANCISCO, Dee. 2. The Arbuckle case went to the jury at 4.15. Tlie jury were looked up. Arbuakle displayed nervousness during the closing hours of Counsel’s ar -giimynt, making innumerable paper balls.
Tlie jury have now* been out for 20 lwurs. They are still undecided. Mr Gavin MeNab, was Arbuckle’s Chief Counsel. He concluded his argument by arraigning the State for failing to bring out any definite detailed statement of Miss Rappe as to her death, and to explain, her injury, and also for a failure to call Mrs Delmont. who had lodged the complaint.
Arbnckle’s attorney revealed that the comedian has received threats to assassiaate him if he is acquitted.
