AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION A SERIOUS FIGHT. ON AFGHAN BORDER. [Received This Day at 8 a.m.) DELHI, November 29.
A fight occurred in the neighbourhood of I’ishni. between 250 AVmsiris Huhesmen from Afghanistan and a company of eighty sent to intercept them. The Company fought galantlv again.t overwhelming nuitiliers. Two British officers in charge were killed and the senior Indian officer wounded. Twentyfive Sepoys were killed and a greater numlier wounded, the enemy carry,,l,g off twenty attackers. Their losses „re not stated. It is understood the local Afghan Governor attempted to stop the raiders. A strong official protest was made to the Afghan government. which was asked to secure the iclease of the wounded prisoners.
