POLLARIj'S pictures.

To-night at the I’rincess. Theatre Bollard* are showing a huge hill of fare including two hig feature dramas’ one English and one American. The first is tlie famous Irish story ”Garryo, ven” from the novel liv If. de Vere Stncpool.i and the story centres round the racehorse !larryowen, a horse in a million. Heautiful scenes in England and Irelad am a. special feature, of this good British production. The second hig lea. .tinre is a Flying A. drama, of six •■-•els entitled “A Sporting Chance” starring the popular AVilliam Russell in the hauling role. W illiam Russell, as a young man who though a millionaire, finds nothing in life to recommend l. and then is plunged into a veritable sea ol thrilling eomplieations, which neither he nr>r the audience can fathom, is kept very lmsy all through “A Sporting Chance.” One usually associates hiname with pictures in which the star has to keep moving at a last pace and doing all kinds rf stunts that rail for ■more than ordinary energy and strength. “A Sporting Chance" is no exception, and shews llosscll to great advantage. One of the best stories th,, ■ star has ever had. The plot is a masterpiece of conception, and keeps one guessing the probable solution to a hairraising mystery until the last minute. ■Action is rifo throughout, and the stall’s responsible foil plenty of hand to hand conflict, with which he deals in his usual helter-skelter fashion. Fritzi Brunette makes a lovely and charming leading lady. l’ollard’s Symphony Orchestra will render a select programme of suitable selections.
