ST MARYS BAZAAR

A very enjnyalde concert, was given at St Mary’s Clnh rooms on last, Friday evening. The girls of the convent school submitted to a good audience a. lengthy programme of vocal and instrumental items. The following was the programme:—Piano trio, “Silver Trumpets" Miss M. Kerridge, M. Ilcenan, and 70. Fitzgerald; vocal duet, “Krin the Tear,” Misses I. Devanev and K. O’Tlrien, (encored) ; violin solo, “Cavatina” Miss M. Knowles; solo. Miss K. Dale; duet,, “Qui Vive” Miss C. Fox and M. Knowles; solo, “Please Hive Me a Penny,” Miss K. O’Brien; Irish dig, Miss Alva Mclntosh, (encored); chorus. “Ireland n Nation”: solo, “Wind of the Western Sea.” Mise K. Webster, encored, piano duet. Misses M. Kerridge and M. Token; chorus “Spring Flowers” : piano solo, “The Hope Dancer" Miss M. Kerridge; solo, “What Would You Take,” Miss Owen Jacobs (encored); recitation, "Miss B. |(oil. (encored) ; chorus “Dixie.” The following also contributed solos; Misses C. ldoyd. F. Reid, and Mr F. Curtnyne and a mandoline solo by Miss O. TCvnns. Misses A. Dalv. M. Dcvaney, and Mrs T. Kenning wore the accompanists. A novel competition then took place when lists of set questions were handed to the audience, the. answer to ho names of parishioners. This caused some speculation and when the lists were handed in, and after being cheeked by the Misses Ward it was found that Mrs AY. Keller, and Miss C. Fox bad scored thirteen questions correct and were awarded the first and second prize. Supper was then served and afterwords the floor was cleared and dancing indulged in till mid-night. The efforts of tin' girls will he a great help in raising the necessary funds for the completion of the church.

On Saturday under the same manage-, ment a. garden party was held in the! Presbytery grounds, where there was a good display of fancy goods and sweets which were disposed of and a very successful day’s business resulted. There wore also games for the voting who appeared to enjoy themselves to tho 1 full
