A DiKFiiTi/r 'lllll. lie had had ;i good many difficult jobs in his time in Parliament, especially in the last few years durina ami since the war period. Hut lie had never had to tackle a job like the present retrenchment one, but, he was not going to shirk it. lie had (tot to see it through or take the consequences and hi- was going to see it through. He was going to put the finances of the Dominion in a sound position, and ask j members of Parliament and the people ’ of the country generally to back him up in doing so. And he must say that they were backing him up. lie had no iiwilt to find.—lion. \V F. Massey.
