Biblical Prophecies.
A REMARKABLE SPEECH. SYDNEY, Nov. 5. Mr Walter Marks, who served with the auxiliary fleet ill British waters throughout, the war. and gained a seat, in the ('oiiimonwoaltli Parliament at the last, elections, made a remarkable speech in Parliament during the week ill the course of a debate on the defence vote. Mr Marks urged earnest consideration of tlie trend of world affairs, and reminded members that- by a study of the Bible there would lafound many prophecies which were borne out. in history.
' “Everything that has been and is to | happen.” he said, “is to bo found in ; l Iff. Bible if we look for it. Tt is elear. i !v indicated that tho next war, the . Armageddon, "ill happen in 1931. ■ Three nations will attack the British | Empire, and the battlefield will bo . Jerusalem. The part wliieli the Rritish f Navy will play is distinctly mentioned; > also tho part which Australia will play, although Australia is not mentioned by . name lieeanso it was not known at that , time. Tlie British Empire is mentionled in the words ‘the merchants of Tarnish and their little lions.’ Tlie |j little lions are the colonies of the Brij, ish Empire. The British naval base.- ■ j Cyprus is mentioned, and this js but a stone’s throw from our present base at Malta. This marks Christ’s return. When Christ, reappears he will rei appear on the spot where he left, us in the robe of a beggar
( Mr Marks interpreted the tenninaj tion of Tnrkisli rule in Palestine, the 1 prevailing unrest in Ireland, Egypt, and India, and the downhill of the Emperor of Germany and of the Czar of Russia as fulfilment of Biblical prophecy. According to the Bible, he said, on Christ’s return, certain Kings had to mo on their bended knees and hand up their crowns. The King of England was specially mentioned as coming in his ship and offering his crown 1° Christ. The other kings did not do so voluntarily. and were compelled. Among the seven emimeratrd conditions was the return of the .lews to Palestine. Thousands of .lews had alreadv Mocked hack, and were living there to-day under a British-.lewish governor, setting up a great kingdom Fur Christ’s return. The dual scene in the setting was that in which Christ directed the British ships to proceed to all cuds of the world to collect. his chosen people, and Bring them to Palestine. where they would become the greatest nation the world hud ever I known.
Tho general opinion that the m-xt war will lie in the I’acilic was declared by Mr Marks to be at variance with the prophecy of the Bible, which clearly defined that it would he in the Mediterranean. The Japanese would not invadi- Australia. .They and the Chinese would go with Christ K> I'alcsl ine.
