Eiltw-six pvnvtrateil the delenees and all were killed. One Gurkha officer was killed, also a British officer. The lighting was protracted and severe. Two hundred and thirty rebels were killed and three of our ranks were kil!*d and thirtyfour wounded. Pandikkad, a postmaster, was murdered. In consequence "I extremist propaganda eight Calcutta policemen have submitted their resignations.
BIG BIOT AT BOMBAY. DELHI, Nov 17. There have I icon Hints at Bombay. \s a result of tho riots, four Indian policemen were killed, and 13 injured. Three rioters were killed by revolver -huts. The police were unable to cope with the outbreak. The military were called out. Dr Gandhi, and other Indian leaders finally tried successfully and persuaded the crowds to desist from violence.
