THK HOUSH. ' The House met at 2.30. The House was engaged on formal j business till 5 o’clock, when Mr Massey j rose to reply to the debate on the Bud- I get. His speech lasted two hours, | when a motion to go into Committee : of Supply was carried. On the first item of the Estimates £58,002 leglsla- ! ture Departments, Mr Massey moved to report progress intimating it was his' intention to refer the estimates 1 to the *Public Acbounts Committee for j revision and report. This course was i agreed to, and the House rose at 9.5 p.m. till Tuesday, when the discussion op the tariff will commence. - 1
