A crowded Ulster Unionist Council demonstration at Belfast protected against Government’s policy. Sir J. Craig telegraphed: “Wo ask you to support my colleagues and myself in every step we consider necessary to maintain our freedom from Sinn Fein domination while still striving for an honourable peace. The honour and prestige of the whole future of the Empire is at stake.”
