AYATAROA STOCK SALE. On Thursday last at the above yards the annual spring sale of store stock was lieltl, when Messrs AA . Jeffries and Co. submitted to competition 156 bead of cattle. A representative attendance was present, a great many watching the prices with anxious eyes'for tbe future of the beef market. Tfirre was a considerable falling off in the entry compared with former years, but the quality was exceptionally good. The sale opened ‘with much caution on the part of buyers and it was soon evident that prices were to fall in sympathy
with the Intel decline now prevalent in the Dominion. Vendors however, were not unreasonable, and a general clearing at the pi ices set below was the result, and must, ho considered satisfactory. No far Soull l cattle were yarded. These will he offered at a special sal,, to be I eld ,ui Mill November.
