Store sheep.—A smaller yarding, and the market- was brighter for hoggets

Store ,-ifttle. A fairly large yarding, hut the quality ways very mixed. Tindemand was better than last week and a good clearance was ,-fleeted. 4-year old steers £0 2s (id, 2 year and. 3 year old steers £3 5s to £4 15s: 2 year heifers £4 -to £5: yearling ditto L'2 to £2 lOs ; good cows L'2 10s to £4. others

Beef. An extra large yarding comprising tho best quality, all round, we have seen for some time, including a consignment from Southland, Otago, and West land. The market- especially for heavy beef, opened ,sinsi,h-.ra My rosier, lull improved somewhat towards the end. Good quality light beef showed little cluing,- from last week. Prime steers. £l4 U>s to (-’l7, extra to £2O: medium. £ll 5s to £l4 10s. others C 7 2s fid to £ll 15s. Best heifers CO 15s lo £l3: medium £7 10s to £9 ss; others £0 to £7 ss. prime rows C’S 5s to £l2 10s: others £0 to C 7 ss; prime cows £8 5s to £l2 10s*. others £5 to £7 10s.

Mutton.—A larger yarding than last week including several good lines from Otago and Southland. The market opened about on. the same parity as last week, hut weakened towards tho end. being about Is to Is (id below tho start. Prime wethers 22s fid to 24s fill', heavier 25s to 29s fid: medium 12s to 20s; Others Its to Ifis fid.
