Received and approved. From Chief Postmaster intimating that the Otira motor mail loiitraetoi desired an increased contribution from tbe Chamber of £H per annum for the next mail U-rm. Received, and agreed to for one year from Ist .faniiary, providing the letter mail on Saturdays was brought from Otira to Hokitika. The Secretary outlined he extensive works now being done atUntil ends of the tunnel, as also at Stillwater and Springfield, to cope with the great volume of traffic. U

Received. From 11. E. Holland M.R. to same effect. Received. It was resolved to accord Mr Evans a vote of thanks for the contributed paper. GENERAL. Reference was made to the retirement of Mr A. 11. Stuart, Chief Rostmaster, from tbe Postal Department, and it was resolved to record a vote ol appreeiation for bis ready services at all times to meet any represent;!!ions made in the interests of the public and the Department, and to extend cordial good wishes to Mr and Mrs Stuart, for their future well being.
